Memorial Parade

Fellow Firefighters, All County Trophies must be registered with the Parade Committee on or before August 15th,  RULES - Size Limitation - All County Trophies shall not be more that 30 inches high (base to the highest point) and the base dimensions shall not be more that 12 inches by 12 inches. The name of the person presenting the County trophy must be submitted by August 15th. This registration must include a letter fully describing what the trophy is for. Only three trophies shall be designated per county to be presented at the ceremonies. Trophies not meeting the above criteria will not be presented during the ceremonies.

In addition to commemorative trophies given to each company that attends, we will also award special trophies in the following categories:

1. New Jersey Co. only. New Jersey best appearing overall Fire Dept. or company marching including equipment - 1st place only

2. Best Appearing Fire Department with Music - 1st Place only $400

3. Best marching unit, 1 to 20 persons (inclusive) marching (excluding Ladies Auxiliary) - 1st and 2nd Prize

4. Best marching unit over 21 persons excluding Ladies Auxiliary - 1st and 2nd Prize

5. Best appearing Ladies Auxiliary - 1st and 2nd Prize

6. Best appearing Fire Dept. or Co. overall apparatus (excluding marching) 1st Prize - William Carney Memorial Trophy and 2nd Prize

7. Best appearing Ladder (in service) - 1st and 2nd Prize

8. Best appearing Platform (telescopic boom) and Snorkel (articulated boom) in service - 1st and 2nd Prize

9. Best appearing Squirt / Quint - 1st and 2nd Prize

10. Best appearing Pumper (Any size pump)

    A .   0  - 2  years - 1st and 2nd Prize

    B.    3 years to 5 years - 1st and 2nd Prize

    C.    6 years to 8 years - 1st and 2nd Prize

    D.    9 years to 12  years - 1st and 2nd Prize

    E.    13 years to 16 years - 1st and 2nd Prize

    F.    17 years to 24 years - 1st and 2nd Prize

11. Best appearing Mini-Pumper (under 500 GPM) in service

    A.   0 months to 24 years inclusive - 1st and 2nd   Prize

12. Best appearing Brush truck - 1st and 2nd Prize

13. Best appearing Utility, Lite Plant Cascade, Haz Mat Unit - 1st and 2nd  Prize (with or without pump)

14. Best appearing Fire Rescue Unit in service - Light - 1st and 2nd Prize (with or without pump) 20,000 GVW & under

15. Best appearing Fire Rescue Unit in service - Heavy - 1st, and 2nd  Prize (with or without pump) 20,001 GVW & over

16. Best appearing Rescue Pumper (must have extrication and cribbing equipment)  1st and 2nd Prize

17. Best appearing Straight or Tractor Drawn Tanker - 1st and 2nd Prize - 1500 gallons or more

18. Best appearing hand drawn piece of equipment - 1st and 2nd Prize

19. Best appearing motorized piece of equipment, 25 years or older (private or dept. owned) must be documented

    A.    25 to 50 years old - 1st and 2nd Prize

    B.    51 years and older - 1st,  2nd and 3rd Prize

20. Company with best Comedy Routine - 1st and 2nd Prize

21. Best appearing Fire Department or Company Color Guard - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize

22. Ambulance, Fire Department or EMS Owned - 1st Place

23. Longest distance traveled as the crow flies -

          A. In State

            B. Out of State

CASH PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: ALL UNITS MUST COMPLETE THE PARADE ROUTE

Best Fire Theme Float - 1st Prize $300.00

1. ALL HIGH SCHOOL & MIDDLE SCHOOL BANDS WILL BE JUDGED IN THE SAME CATEGORY AS IN ALL PREVIOUS YEARS OF THE FIREMEN’S PARADE. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED - 1st Prize $800.00; 2nd Prize $500.00; 3rd Prize $400.00; 4th Prize $300.

2. All other bands (Senior or Independent) will be judged as Firemen’s Bands or Bands representing a fire Fire Company for the title of “New Jersey State Firemen’s Championship Band”. - 1st Prize $400.00; 2nd Prize $300.00

3. Drum Corps Contest will include: Drum and Bugle Corps, Fife Corps, and Bell Trumpet & Drum Corps. - 1st Prize $400.00; 2nd Prize $200.00

4. Bag Pipe, Pipe Band Contest - 1st Prize $400.00; 2nd Prize $200.00

Please fill the entry form provided and return to: PARADE COMMITTEE, Box 523, Wildwood, NJ 08260. We are looking forward to your participation in the Annual Firemen’s Parade which we know will be a very successful ending to another fine convention at the Jersey Cape.

GENERAL INFORMATION (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

Toilet facilities will be placed along the parade route.

ALL DOCUMENTS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION AT TIME OF JUDGING. COPY OF BILL OF SALE INCLUDED. COPY OF REGISTRATION MUST BE PRESENTED ON DAY OF PARADE DO NOT SEND ANY OF THE ABOVE WITH PARADE REGISTRATION.

Advance notice markers for judging area will be posted on the parade route.

PLAQUES WILL BE AWARDED AT THE END OF THE PARADE. YOUR UNIT MUST CONTINUE TO THE POSTED END OF THE PARADE OR IT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM ALL PRIZES.

Uniforms are considered TRADITIONAL or CONTEMPORARY as far as judging is concerned.

Any companies entering as a department must submit all applications at ONE TIME. Each unit will be assigned a separate entry number.

The Representatives Name that is on the Registration is the person designated to pick up the Line Up Number.

PLEASE NOTE : A 10 x 12 Card MUST be placed on your truck in front of windshield, passenger side, with the year, pump size (if applicable), and what category number it’s to be judged in. County name must be added. (IF Card does not appear, the truck will not be judged.)
